1. Romneys, Milnthorpe Road
Romneys is the pub on Milnthorpe Road at the south end of Kendal. Its Christmas Day menu, published on its website in October, is three courses at £85 for adults and £45 for children 11 and under, with roast turkey, roast sirloin of beef or a nut roast as the main course, all with pigs in blankets and Yorkshire pudding.
The menu says booking is necessary and the full food amount is taken as a deposit with your menu choices, and tables are given in two-hour slots between 12pm and 3.45pm. For December, its Christmas party menu prices the roast turkey main at £22.95.

2. Castle Green Hotel, Castle Green Lane
The Castle Green is the hotel on the eastern edge of Kendal. Its festive dining page, updated in October, offers a non-resident Christmas Day lunch in the Greenhouse Restaurant at £119 for adults and £69 for children, starting with a glass of champagne on arrival.
Through December the Greenhouse also serves a festive lunch from 12pm to 4pm at £30 for two courses or £35 for three. The hotel’s pub, Alexander’s, runs its own Christmas party nights.

3. The Royal Oak, Ambleside
The Royal Oak is the Greene King pub on Church Street in the middle of Ambleside. Its Christmas Day page lists three courses for £62.95, the lowest adult price on this list, with a separate children’s menu for under-12s at £27.95.
A £10 deposit is taken for every adult and child. Menu choices and the balance are due by 11 December for bookings made by that date, and by 18 December after it.
The pub’s Festive Fayre menu runs from 12 November to 3 January, except Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve, at £21.95 for two courses or £24.95 for three.

The Queen’s Head is the inn on Main Street in Hawkshead. Its Christmas page links a 2026 Christmas Day menu at £95 for adults and £47.50 for children, three courses with mains of roast turkey and baked ham, fillet steak, duo of duck, salmon or a vegan pithivier.
The menu says pre-ordering is essential. For the rest of December the pub’s Festive Favourites menu sits alongside its usual one, with a roast turkey main at £19.95.

7. The Village Inn, Bowness-on-Windermere
The Village Inn is the Greene King pub on Lake Road in Bowness. Its Christmas Day page lists three courses at £77.95, with a children’s menu for under-12s at £29.95, but it also says the pub is now fully booked for Christmas Day.
It is still worth knowing for December: the Festive Fayre menu runs from 12 November to 3 January, except Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve, at £21.95 for two courses or £24.95 for three, with a £5 a head deposit.

8. The Royal Hotel, Kirkby Lonsdale
The Royal Hotel is on Main Street in Kirkby Lonsdale and belongs to Bowland Inns and Hotels. Its Christmas 2026 page offers Christmas Day lunch at £115 a head, with fizz and canapés on arrival, and £35 for children 13 and under.

9. The Plough, Lupton
The Plough is the country inn on Cow Brow at Lupton, on the A65 between the M6 at junction 36 and Kirkby Lonsdale. Its Christmas page carries a Christmas menu for 1 to 24 December rather than a Christmas Day lunch: £34.95 for two courses or £39.95 for three, with roast Lancashire Bronze turkey, braised beef blade, hake, a cheese and onion pie and a vegan gnocchi among the mains.
Breakfast with Father Christmas on Saturday 12 December is £19.95 a child and £14.95 an adult, with a gift for every child.
