Who is behind it
Ritual is the work of Ryan King and Jack Livock Brown, who wrote to Kendal News this week. “We’re Ryan King and Jack Livock Brown, two local residents who started Ritual to bring more original live music to Kirkby Lonsdale,” Ryan said. “With support from Arts Council England, we’re developing a programme that brings touring and emerging artists to the area.”

Their website describes the nights as “listening-focussed music in rural places”, showcasing “original and grass-roots music by predominantly local artists”. “Our ethos has always been to provide a welcoming, listening-focussed atmosphere in which independent artists can share their music,” it says.
What the night is like
“It’s a relaxed, welcoming evening with a bar,” Ryan said, “and we’d love to reach people in Kendal and the surrounding villages who might enjoy discovering live music close to home.”
The listing on the ticket page calls it “an intimate night of live music in the heart of Kirkby Lonsdale”, with the music and the audience “right at the heart” of the evening. Ritual is supported by Arts Council England, the listing adds.
