Winter at Sizergh runs daily from 20 November to Christmas Eve 2026, noon to 8pm: a light trail, Christmas in the house and crafts. Non-members £13 an adult.
Winter at Sizergh, the National Trust’s Christmas event at the house near Kendal, runs every day from Friday 20 November to Thursday 24 December 2026. The house opens from 12pm to 8pm with Christmas decorations, the garden becomes a light and sound trail, and the café and shop stay open to 8pm. Tickets are booked in advance: £13 for a non-member adult, £9.75 for a child, and £6.50 for National Trust members, who pay the event fee only.

What Winter at Sizergh is
The Trust’s booking page describes it like this: “Wander through new nature-themed light and sound installations, designed by local artists and inspired by Sizergh’s estate, and get closer to our winter wildlife. Discover Christmas in the house, then get creative in the Great Barn, with self-led festive crafts for all.” The café takes indications for a Christmas dinner on the booking form, charged separately on the day (National Trust tickets, November dates).
Tickets
Non-member prices include a £6.50 event fee on top of Sizergh’s winter garden admission. Members pay only the event fee, and must bring their membership card to scan. There are separate booking pages for November dates and December dates.

Points worth knowing before you book:
- Tickets are non-refundable and slots cannot be swapped at the property. The Trust recommends creating a DigiTickets account, which lets you change your slot online.
- Non-members pay for parking on top of the ticket.
- The free National Trust Reach pass cannot be used for Winter at Sizergh, but it still gets standard admission from 10am to 12pm, before the event starts at midday.
- The trail is outdoors and can be muddy; the Trust suggests waterproofs and wellies. Wheelchairs and mobility scooters can be hired from reception. During the event wheelchair users can reach the first floor of the house via the Chapel, which gives access to the Chapel, Chapel Corridor and Library.

The Trust had not published anything beyond 31 December when we checked. Outside the event, winter garden-only admission from November to March is £6.50 for an adult and £3.25 for a child, and National Trust members go free.
